Product Overview

IDS represented a huge leap forward in diagnostic technology for current vehicles, combining the ease of use and familiarity of the previous T4 / Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) software with an up to date specification laptop computer.

IDS replaced the old T4/WDS diagnostic system, though this older system may still be used to perform some diagnostic routines on earlier vehicles.

Comparing IDS to the T4/WDS diagnostic system, the IDS computer has a much higher specification with significantly improved performance.

IDS uses the current Vehicle Communications Module (VCM) to communicate with all vehicles. Vehicles using the previous diagnostic protocol will require IDS to be connected to the T4 docking station. This ensures that complete diagnostic communication is possible with all models from 1996 to the New Freelander 2 and beyond.
